How do you feel when you walking into each room?

When you think about your space (your home) does it feel heavy or light?

Why does it matter?

Rooms can feel heavy or light and in turn make us feel that way too. Sometimes it’s not until we make changes do we realise how the feeling in the space has changed.

How does it affect us?

If we’re surrounded by items that bring us negative feelings and thoughts, that can bring a heaviness. If we are seeing purchases we regret, things that don’t quite fill us with the joy we felt in the store or clothing that doesn’t fit us then how can we feel happy and relaxed with all that negativity?
  • We may have bought things we regret because we paid too much, and we haven’t even used them, or we now don’t even like.
  • Sometimes our tastes and interests have changed but we feel bad for getting rid of these things because they were expensive at the time.
  • Are unfinished projects or piles of paperwork all you see? Or things that remind you of a past life, that you can no longer relate to?
Imagine if you got rid of these ‘things’

Donating

If you donated or gave items away, what would happen? Your room could breathe and so could you! What if you no longer had to dust, care for and look at these things? Would it give you space in your mind and in your heart for things that you truly love? Would you feel free and ready for a change?

How to start

  • Often, we feel we need to make changes in our lives but it can be hard to know where to start and what it is that really needs to change.
  • Of course, you could this yourself. Work through each space, think about each item, make those decisions and create the environment you want.
  • When many of the items have a story behind them or a strong feeling it can be very hard.
  • Working with a Professional Organiser can make a huge difference because we don’t have a person attachment to any of the items. This doesn’t mean Organisers should come in and tell you to toss everything. It’s a process and having support to this should feel just that – supportive.
Together you can put aside uninterrupted time to just focus and make decisions that you have been putting off. Having someone come into your home that genuinely loves organising and creating a home for clients that makes them feel happy may be just what you need.

So go on, walk into each space, and see how it makes you feel. What do you want to feel? Inspired, calm, energetic, happy or something else?

Is it time to let things go?
